EASY FUNDRAISING
Situated in the coastal town of Cromer, the Gem of the Norfolk coast. We welcome folks of all ages with or without bowling experience as well as touring bowls clubs coming to North Norfolk. We have one of the best bowling greens in the County of Norfolk.
To promote and grow the sport of bowls in Cromer, enriching participants' lives, strengthening connections with the community, and ensuring its longevity for future generations.
To grow our membership by welcoming families and younger generations, offering a fun, safe environment with top-quality facilities.
We are committed to positively impacting the health and well-being of our community.
Sue: Did I ever think I would play bowls? Never, but one day, I stopped by the green to see what was involved. I was invited to join in, and an afternoon of sometimes getting it right, sometimes getting it wrong, and sometimes bowling the winning shot had me hooked. I met many new people who encouraged me to play and join in.
I would encourage everyone to dismiss their preconceived notions about bowls and give it a try.
Marc: My experience of Marrams Bowls Club, both as a new bowler and as a person with a mental health condition has been nothing but positive.
I was welcomed into the club and have enjoyed every minute of the past seven years (well, maybe not the COVID years!!).
Members have taken time out to assist me in learning and understanding the game. I was i ntroduced into the league matches gently, at my pace.
Bowls have given me an outlet, a breathing space, a way of 'losing' myself when the effect s of my condition could become destructive.
It's a great club, with a wonderful group of members and a fantastic bowls green.
Don: I joined Cromer Marrams Bowls Club last year as a first-time bowler. I've enjoyed bo wling and meeting some nice people, and I can't wait for next season!
Allan: I love the fact that young and not-so-young can enjoy a game that includes a load o f fun and humor on and off the green. The excitement generated in both the social and clu b competitions is palpable and adds to the overall bowling experience.
Chrissie: I have played for Cromer Marrams Bowls Club for many years. I love the fun, competition, and friendship among the members, who all help out in their o wn way. Some of the players also volunteer their time to coach.
We are lucky that most weekends we welcome visiting teams some of who have been co ming back for many years. The reason being that we make them very welcome and they lo ve our bowls green of which most are quite envious. (Also the cheap drinks our bar serves )
The league captains and competition secretary play a big part in the organising so that all games run smoothly.
We have members who come to stay in Cromer for the summer months, participate in all games and competitions, and help out.
We also have dedicated non-playing ladies who help out with food and teas and running t he bar.
A brilliant club and we welcome all newcomers with open arms.
Raffi: Since moving to Cromer 5 years ago we have had the pleasure of being involved wit h Cromer Marrams Bowls Club. My husband is a keen bowler and I do not bowl myself but I am made so welcome when I turn up to watch.
The Club is made up of friendly, helpful volunteers. They have a vision to grow and becom e more than just a bowls club. It's a great club for anyone to come along, make friends, an d have company. There are some excellent bowls games to watch, and a great sense of h umor is always present! I may even join one of their beginner sessions this year—who kno ws?
Colin: I have been a member of Cromer Marrams Bowls Club for about two years now. It's one of the friendliest clubs around and has the best bowls-green in North Norfolk. I'm 66, but I wish I had joined a lot sooner.
The club has a great social side, with friendly and club matches throughout the season, a nd it also welcomes several touring teams. Come take a look and be part of one of the bes t bowls clubs in North Norfolk.
Nigel: Cromer Marrams Bowls Club has a magnificent history and has been home to some of the best outdoor bowlers in the county for many years.
Thanks to a few knowledgeable and willing volunteers, it still has one of the best-maintain ed greens in Norfolk. Players of all standards enjoy it in the various local leagues and from the touring teams that visit from all over the country.
We encourage folks from the local Cromer community who want to meet others for recreation, exercise, or a chat to pop in. We are also looking for beginners and experienced players who want to play in our teams and compete on a fantastic 'green' to come and join in getting the job done.
I look forward to welcoming you to our club.
Bob: I have been a member of the Marrams Bowls Club for 48 years. The actual green is o ne of the best in the area. The atmosphere in the clubhouse is friendly and welcoming. It i s a pleasure to play here.
Janice: I have been a member of the Marrams Bowls Club for 20 years.
A lot of my time here is spent raising money by running the kitchen, helping behind the ba r, and running the raffles. All with the help of the members - male and female.
Great club. Great company.
